Honest-1 Auto Care Corporate
Good service but steep prices. I had my car in for a front brake reline and rotor resurfacing. The price for that was on the high side, but because of Honest-1's good reviews, I figured it was worth paying a little extra and not doing the "coupon runaround" like I normally do with services like this when a mechanic gives you a lowball price, but doesn't include a lot of necessary services that then become "extras." Anyway, as anticipated, the mechanic found a couple of things my car needed, but when the front desk gentleman quoted me the price for installing a lower front controller arm bushing in my SUV, I nearly keeled over. I didn't have the work done, but I did stop by Firestone on the way home and was quoted a price for the same job for about 40% lower. I'll have the work done at Firestone, especially since I also have a 20% off coupon they will honor even though it's expired. One more thing...at Honest-1 while my front brakes were being done, the mechanic recommended I have my rear brakes "cleaned and adjusted" and told me it'd be about $40 to blow out the dust and do a quick adjustment. I agreed, but the price was about $58 when I went check out. I just paid it and figured I'd learned a lesson. On the plus side, my car was taken into the shop precisely at my appointment time (which I appreciated) and took about 45 minutes less time than I had expected to be finished. I'm hoping that didn't mean the mechanic cut corners on getting my car's work done, but everything seems to be working fine.
